Welcome to Troop 216!

Troop 216 Troop 216 has been serving the Alamo, Danville and Walnut Creek communities for 65 years. We are proud to be the oldest chartered troop in the Meridian District. The troop has consistently earned the Quality Unit Award – Gold Level, each year for leadership, outdoor programs and scout accomplishments.

First Troop Meeting of 2018 - Tuesday, Jan 16th, 7 pm - SVMS

All troop scouts should attend.  We are excited to be back after the holiday break.  The focus of the meeting will be Advancement Day.  Scouts should bring their scout book and check in with their patrol leader and the Advance Chair on the progress they have made towards their advancement goals.

SM Conferences and BoR

SM Conferences will take place on Tuesday, Jan 23 and 30 with the BoR’s scheduled on Jan 30 and Feb 13.  Scouts seeking rank advancement recognition at the February CoH should contact Advance Chair, Ms. Cara Stewart and request an appointment.

Indoor Rock Climbing - Tuesday, Jan 23. Sign up by Friday, Jan. 19th

The troop will meet at Diablo Rock Gym in Concord for a fun night of rock climbing from 7 - 8:30 pm.     

Please sign up on the troop website ASAP if you can attend.  The cost is $25 per scout and should be paid to the troop VENMO account upon sign up.  A check can also be brought to Sawako.

If you scout has a SM Conference that evening, they will take place in the side party room.

The Troop 216 committee has been hard at work planning our 2018 outing’s schedule.  We have met with scout leaders and have come up with an exciting schedule.  The sign ups are open in the right hand column and all details regarding the outings can be found under the sign up.  Please take the time to review the outings with your scout and sign up as early as possible.  There are many moving parts to consider when managing outings and the sooner you sign up the better the outings will turn out.

Troop 216 Family Rafting and Car Camping - Labor Day Weekend 2018

This Labor Day weekend the troop invites families to include parents and siblings to join the scouts on a fun rafting trip on the Middle Fork American River.  The group will car camp at the American River campgrounds.

If your family would like to attend, please take the following steps by April 1, 2018

1.  Sign up all family members who wish to attend on the troop website.

2.  Indicate the age of all siblings who are not scouts (this is needed for the reservation).

3.  Remit $50 per person deposit to the troop via Venmo or check to Sawako by April 1st.

The estimated cost is $150 per person for rafting and includes the campsite fees.  Additional costs for food and carpools should be expected.

FIRST AID & CPR TRAINING for SCOUTS/ADULTS & HA WILDERNESS FIRST AID TRAINING for SCOUTS/ADULTS

Scouts and Adults attending Outings should be prepared!  The Troop will have a First Aid & CPR Training for adults and Scouts on January 20th, PLUS HA Wilderness First Aid Training for all Philmont 2018/Northern Tier 2018/Seabase 2019 Scouts (14 yrs and older) and Adults on January 20th-21st.  HA Wilderness First Aid Certification lasts for 2 years, and must be renewed.  Recommend retaking the course, as there have been updates.  First Aid & CPR for Scouts and Adults will be on January 20th (9-12PM).  Wilderness First Aid will be on January 20th (9-5PM) and January 21st (9-5PM) for Scouts (must be 14yrs or older) and Adults.  Cost for First Aid & CPR for Scouts and Adults is $50.  Cost for WFA for Scouts and Adults is $85.  Registered Adult cost is $25 for each course (troop will pay the remaining fee).  Location:  TBD  Please sign up on the troop website, by January 16th.
